I am a wanted man. I saw Senzan pilots overhead and made myself scarce. That should hardly come as a surprise.

To answer your questions, both posed and implied: yes, a year. Not much. No, we have not. Surviving was simple; my initial plan was, it turned out, overly complicated. I merely had to stand at the prow while the Hortense slowed and disembark onto a passing tree limb.

Now, do you have anything intelligent to add, or is this conversation concluded?

I did not tell them to implicate you, Cabal. Not solely to do so, anyway. If that was what I wanted, I would have alerted the authorities to your presence one of the many times that presented themselves.

I am sure that officer outside of that restaurant would have listened.

And if you think I am leaving you to your own devices here, you are sorely mistaken.

Even if I would very much like to go our separate ways, I will not have you breaking the laws of this place. Which you seem to be quite apt at just by being you.

In short, we are stuck with one another. Unfortunately.

What laws could I possibly break? There is nothing of use to me here. My only concern is securing a means of escape. A concern which, if you have a single rational cell in your body, you ought to share.

I am not sure yet, but I am sure you could find some law to break.
